Why a Havanese
Three things people fall for, every single time.

Havanese grow a long, silky, sometimes wavy coat over a soft undercoat, no harsh guard hairs, which is part of why the breed sheds so little. Left long it moves like a curtain; kept short in a puppy cut it is nearly no-fuss. Either way, regular brushing keeps it tangle-free.

They were bred for centuries as companion dogs, and it shows. Havanese follow you from room to room, love riding along in a bag or a lap, and genuinely dislike being left out of whatever you're doing. Smart and eager to please, they pick up tricks and house training fast.

Big dark eyes, a springy trot, and an expressive, almost grinning face give the Havanese a look that is hard to walk past. They come in nearly every color, from pure white to chocolate to black and white, so no two litters look quite the same.

Allergic to dogs?
The Havanese's silky, low-shedding coat means less loose hair and dander floating around the house, and a lot of allergy sufferers who reacted badly to other dogs do fine around one. No dog is truly allergy-free, so it's worth meeting one in person first.
